Proof-of-funds tips Nigerian applicants miss
- Same account, no last-minute jumps. Visa officers flag balances that arrive in one lump sum days before application.
- Domiciliary accounts help. Saving in USD/GBP avoids Naira slippage — but the visa post still wants the equivalent in the right currency.
- Sponsor route. Parents/guardians can sponsor — you'll need their bank statement, affidavit of support, and proof of relationship.
- Education loans count for the UK and Canada if disbursed by a recognised lender (Prodigy, MPower, Leap, Access Bank study loan).
- Avoid borrowed funds you'll repay. If money leaves the account right after the visa decision, it's fraud — and you'll get banned.
Estimates are guidance, not guarantees. Confirm latest amounts on official embassy/IRCC sites.
